About Yis Paintings

Yis Paintings began the way most honest things do — not with a plan, but with a pull toward something. I started with drawing, fascinated by form and design, and painting came naturally from there. No formal training, no art school — just ten years of showing up to the canvas and figuring it out.

Based in New York, my work takes me somewhere else entirely. I'm drawn to the warmth of tropical landscapes — palm trees bending over clear water, white sand beaches, the kind of light that only exists somewhere far from the city. There's something about that world that keeps pulling me back to the canvas.

I paint across styles and subjects, but always with an eye for the real — the way a palm frond catches the sun, the specific blue of a Caribbean sky, the stillness of a bird perched on a branch. Each piece comes from a genuine place of looking closely at the world and trying to put it down honestly.

Every painting in this collection is an original, made by hand one at a time. Each piece is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
